About Ploddingham

Greetings, traveler. Welcome to Ploddingham.

You’ve arrived at a humble province devoted to small, stubborn, imperfect faithfulness in life, family, and worship. You'll find gathered here offerings for the encouragement and equiping of those of a similar spirit.

(1) Marriage and family are the greatest tasks ordinary Christians are called to, and opportunities far more consequential than has been taught to us in recent years.
(2) Contrary to the spirit of our age, it is slow, unimpressive, incremental faithfulness that the Lord requires and blesses. More is accomplished aiming at less and hitting consistently than aiming at everything and missing half the time.

In Ploddingham, we’ll do a little less today. But we’ll do it every single day.

In other words, in Ploddingham it is believed that our ambition should lie in how long we spend doing the right things. The lamps burn over-long, not over bright in Ploddingham. I believe this is good news, because it means ordinary people can make progress in extraordinary things.

You may find Ploddingham a place worth visiting for the following reasons.

(1) You want to practice spiritual disciplines with your children daily, despite the challenges.
(2) You are looking to the past more than to the present for Christian instruction and culture.
(3) You are looking to tradition and worship for Christian formation more so than invention and activism.

I pray that a star shines upon our meeting.

Yours truly,
Dan Conway
